At Mârgarette we love creative people with strong characters, we are always on the lookout for inspiring creations, for this reason one of our young references is Eugenia Alejos.
Eugenia Alejos is a fashion designer, based in Barcelona. Born in 1987 in Burgos, Spain. She graduated from the Spanish art and fashion Design College “Escuela Superior de Arte y Diseño de Moda” and she specialised in new techniques and illustration and new clothing technologies, in Portugal.
She spent her “childhood with a humble family, where the values of work, honesty, respect and love helped her to grow and develop all the creative capabilities.”
Following on from receiving a grant to study a degree in fashion design, in the Escuela Superior de Arte y Diseño, Eugenia has established a strong reputation on account of the creation of futuristic garments for advertising, artists, catwalks and cinema.
Eugenia was invited to present her first collage-exposition in July, 2011, in Porto. Between May and April of 2012, she was chosen once more to show her second collection of illustrations in the exposition “Va la figura: nueva ilustración de moda” in Central Saint Martins, in the UK along with Ligaya Salazar, curator of Contemporary programs in Victoria&Albert museum, in London. Her last exposition was in July, 2012: “Frankeinsteins” in South 36.32N, in Cadiz.
Her innovative and futuristic designs are a wonder of technique and proof of a true gift for fashion design. We leave you with some of her works and illustrations, with the collage as the centre of her universe.
